CELESTIA-APP v10.4.0-mocha — Mocha upgrade

Dear partners and node operators,

We are pleased to announce a new version of celestia-app today. Please upgrade as soon as possible to benefit from the latest fixes and improvements.

Celestia-app and Fibre:

• Upgrade steps: stop the node and Fibre, replace both binaries, then run celestia-appd config sync --home ~/.celestia-app --fibre-home ~/.celestia-fibre to pick up new config fields before restarting.

• Breaking change: remote signer connection between Fibre and the node is now enabled via mutual TLS (mTLS).

• Same-host plaintext setups must use an IP literal (e.g. 127.0.0.1:26669); localhost is no longer accepted.

• [Optional] Object storage is now supported (eg. S3 buckets):

  • Switching shard storage docs are here.

  • Migration steps to another bucket are here.

• Fibre connections now rotate every ~5 minutes with a 2-minute grace period; custom clients should handle reconnects.

For best endorsement latency, colocate your object storage with the Fibre server, and keep Fibre close to your validator/RPC. Remote buckets in a different region can add seconds of latency and cause missed endorsements.

We recommend running Fibre on a separate server from your validator rather than on the validator host itself.
