CELESTIA-APP v10.2.0-mocha — Mocha upgrade
Dear partners and node operators,
We are pleased to announce new version of celestia-app today. Please upgrade as soon as possible to benefit from the latest fixes and improvements.
Celestia-app:
This release is intended for Mocha-5. If you are upgrading from v9, please read through the release notes carefully.
This is a major release that mainly introduces Fibre as a breaking release. All Fibre instructions will be provided after v10 activation height hits. In the mean time, you are welcome to check current documentation which is a WIP.
Important highlights (Please read through the whole major release notes before upgrading):
- Source builds require Go 1.26.6 . Requires glibc 2.38 or newer. Ubuntu 22.04 and older are unsupported.
- Any KMS infrastructure may be used, provided it meets both support the privval SignRawBytes and median signing latency must stay at or below 10ms.
- Privval gRPC Endpoint Enabled by Default (The default listen address moved from 127.0.0.1:26659 to 127.0.0.1:26669; if a node is not serving Fibre, this can be disabled).
- new config fields:
- Heavy RPC Requests limit: configurable via max_concurrent_heavy_requests in the [rpc] section of config.toml
- Blockstore Compaction: New [storage] options in config.toml: compact (default false) and compaction_interval (default 10000).
- to update config: celestia-appd config sync
- Metrics Push via OTLP: celestia-appd start accepts a new --otel-endpoint flag (env CELESTIA_APP_OTEL_ENDPOINT) that pushes node metrics (SDK telemetry, CometBFT, Go runtime).
- Two new modules: x/fibre and x/valaddr.
- Evidence Window: MaxAgeNumBlocks is reduced from 559,940 to 404,400.
If you are an active validator, please signal to upgrade to v10:
- celestia-appd tx signal signal 10 --from (validatorwallet) --chain-id mocha-5 --fees 210000utia
- You can track the tally of signaling by validators using the following query celestia-appd query signal tally 10
- Once 5/6+ of the voting power have signaled, the upgrade will be ready.
- To view the upcoming upgrade height use the following query: celestia-appd query signal upgrade
- The upgrade delay is 2 days after 5/6+ voting power has signaled and the upgrade tx is submitted
